A final principle of UX design is to let people know when they make progress on a website. It can be daunting for an individual to go through an entire user journey, especially when the end of the journey is unclear. Signaling their progress along the way can make the overall experience feel less onerous and less ambiguous. In software design, this type of feedback is provided by confirmation notices and progress bars that help users visualize their advancement through the digital experience. These small moments of reinforcement and affirmation serve as mini rewards for what might otherwise feel like a laborious user journey.
